The municipalities receive free of charge responses from their own municipality. They are reported as a total column and a document with all open answers.
Based on the answers, the municipality can compare with other municipalities, for example, that more or less have fire alarms, want to start their own, move from the municipality and why they want it. Our hope is that the results can directly lead to action.
The survey is carried out each year in order to follow the answers over time.
The municipality also helps the region / county to develop regional statistics that can be used for regional development in healthcare, public transport, regional development strategies in general, and integration issues based on the new arrived immigrants perspective. See examples of regional issues in this pdf .
For a lesser cost, the municipality may request a PowerPoint presentation of the answers in the municipality and develop its own breakdowns of the responses to, for example, see differences between age, sex, those who want to stay, those who are dissatisfied with their internship etc. It is also possible to formulate own questions at the municipality level as we add the questionnaire. Common questions are if you visited a certain gathering place in the municipality and how new arrivals think it can be developed. The immigrant index may also present the results for the City Council, committees or officials. We can also interpret the results based on our experience of the immigrants’ voice! At the same time, the municipality helps decision makers, under the headings of customers and researchers, to get information about how to come to Sweden and live here.
Follow this link (pdf) and print information material to municipalities that were taken to the seminar “Refugee Reception in Change” in Växjö at the turn of the month Nov / Dec. Here are results from 2016 and technical description of the immigrant index 2016.
